ARTIST STATEMENT

Space, is an area or expanse that is free and unoccupied.
‍Space, is the boundless expanse beyond the Earth.
‍Space, is the freedom to live and think in their own way.
Space, is what a person would ask for when they need time alone.

But what if you have too much space?
‍

The sudden forced isolation has given me more alone time in this space that I live. The nights get longer as the days seem countless and insignificant. This series of works dances around the idea of darkness and loneliness in this living space, likening a small room to outer space. Using only my computer monitors as a light source I had shot different subjects and scenes.  The out of focus shots due to low visibility while shooting along with the low-key images produced had created an astronomical aesthetic; creating a sense of escapism when viewed in almost complete darkness.
